Challenge 8

This challenge was hosted by the wonderful people at Oscraps. It was styled after the popular show American Idol ~ Scrap Idol! I picked this wonderful layout at NDISB by Tchela at NDISB to lift. Pictured here is my baby girl, Cari, 20 years ago when she wouldn't let that kitten out of her sight. Click here to go to the ADSR gallery for credits. Thanks for stopping by!

Little did I know how soon! Challenge #7 ~ hosted by Sunshine Studios ~ was fun. I scanned a very old photo and restored it in Photoshop to the best of my ability. Here's the result:

Challenge #4

I have been impatiently waiting for Challenge #5 today, but then it dawns on me that I haven't posted my Challenge #4 here yet! LOL!!!

I am not the type to usually go to the "artsy" side -- I like my traditional papers and layering concept, and my white space as well. But to the dark (art side) I went.

Here we are on challenge #4 ~ It's hosted by Tangie Baxter Designs and it's a doozy! I'm pretty new at digi scrapping so I'm not always sure about the terminology. This challenge is called "Art and Soul" and should be art inspired. I decided to make a layout of Cari because she is the artist that most inspires me! Here's what I made:
I want to make sure you can read my journaling, Cari, because I am so proud of you. It says: When I feel that I haven’t made much of my life or am unsure of my reason for being, all I have to do is look at you, my child, and I understand all that is beautiful in the world. You are so talented and full of creativity that it takes my breath away. I am so thankful to have you in my life. You fill me up with love.

Challenge #3

Challenge #3 was actually fun for me since it was going back to layout one and lifting it. My first layout was created with the paint bucket tool and an element that I had downloaded at digitalscrapbookplace.com; you can find the layout here

And my new layout is

We're still racing!

The third challenge is hosted by Gotta Pixel. The challenge is to redo the first layout that you posted to a gallery. My very first layout was at Scrap Girls. You can see the original layout here: http://scrapgirls.com.ipbhost.com/index.php?autocom=gallery&req=si&img=48759
The photos in this layout were taken when Josh graduated from Officer Candidate School. It was really an exciting moment for our family and we were so proud of him. Hope you like the page.

Challenge #2

Well, challenge #2 was just that! It was hosted by Elemental Scraps and was an intersection. An intersection is a challenge shared by both partners. The theme was Cabin Fever. Penny & I (yep both of us!) emailed crazily back and forth, back and forth, back and forth! This is what we decided on for our final layout. It was mostly made with Valerie Randall's CampScrap kit. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like it!

Challenge #1

P#1 here with my challenge #1 -- was really worried about surviving the challenges, but one down, several more to go!

I'm back already!

Right after I left the last post, the challenge was up and I couldn't wait to get started. It was hosted by Hummie's World. The challenge was to tear a photo into at least three pieces and the rest of the layout was our own choice but must include journaling. I decided to scrap this old photo of Cari, Jenny & Tiffany when they were little girls. Here's mine (P#2) for challenge #1. Hope you like it.

Tick Tock

Penny #2 here this time. The race is officially started though the first challenge isn't posted yet. I've been kind of glued to my computer hoping to get some kind of a sneek peek, but alas no such luck. I've also been reading threads with info from veteran racers and that has kind of scared me more than I was. I saw a few of the challenges from the last race and they were quite intimidating. My philosphy is going to be: read the directions, don't procrastinate, have fun and remember that I'm scrapping for me. I should have a nice batch of really special layouts when this 6 weeks is over. Wish us luck as we begin! Check back in a couple of days and see our layouts (of who knows what - LOL!) xxoo

Hours Left!

Only a few more hours left before the day! I am excited and nervous at the same time!!!
